<p style="text-align: justify;">Savage 220 ejection problems. Had anyone else had this problem and what did you do to remedy the situation? Aug 11, 2013 · Never had a problem with the ejection of the shells from my Savage 220f, the bolt needs to be worked hard & fast, I agree the action isn't smooth, I lapped both the bolt and the bolt rails, granted it's smoother but no where near the smoothness of my rifles. They will fix it for free although the gun is out of warranty. Do not fear the ejection hype. Feb 8, 2011 · After looking at the magazine for the 220F, I realized that your problem was a feeding problem and my problem was an ejection problem. Maybe I'll get the ejection port clear by moving the scope rings back, but this may require extension rings to maintain my eye relief. According to the guy I spoke with shipping for repair does not require an FFL to be involved. This has happened to me both seasons I shoot 1 shot go to eject the round and sometimes it comes out and sometimes it doesn't. Nov 25, 2009 · I'm guessing that the ejecting shell relies on the up pressure from the magazine follower spring, and the shell to be loaded, to eject the fired shell. I have an issue with the ammo feeding from the magazine. Accuracy is unreal for me, 3/4" groups at 100yds, 1. Is the "ejector starter pin" missing, which would reduce the overall length and slightly weaken the spring? Jul 29, 2019 · Problems with failure to eject and feed, have tried three different magazines and vigorous operation of the bolt. The only problems it does not eject well. 3/1. Anything less than a forceful forward feed and the shell comes right out of the mag and out the ejection port, bypassing the chamber all together. Any one else had this problem? Try stretching the follower spring to create more up pressure on the shell to be loaded and see if that helps There may be less up pressure after. Jul 25, 2017 · My recently purchased Savage 220 slug gun is extremely accurate. thereby keeping tension on the side of the case until it reaches the ejection port. Although once I start using the magazine, I may end up with the same feeding problem. They want me to ship it to them for repair. My ejector springs in my spare parts is 29 mm long and 4 mm in diameter. . Who knew that stuffing a slug in a rifle action would be so hard. It’s like it is trying to be fed at the wrong angle and causes it to jam.
